Modern chiropractic was first discovered in 1895 by a natural healer, Dr. Daniel D. Palmer. Dr Palmer had a janitor named Harvey Lillard who had been deaf for 17 years. When Dr. Palmer examined his neck and upper back he found what we now know as a subluxation. Dr. Palmer adjusted Harvey Lillard's subluxation and his hearing returned shortly thereafter.

Over the ensuing years chiropractic has had a phenomenal growth due to its miraculous results.

Initially however, chiropractic faced stern challenges from the medical fraternity and many chiropractors were thrown into jail for 'practising medicine without a license'. Thankfully public opinion demanded the acceptance of chiropractic and it has now taken its rightful place as a primary health care provider.

Chiropractors are now licensed in most countries around the world.
